Vehicle Wrapping Explained

Vehicle wrapping is the process of covering your vehicle with a vinyl film, either partially or fully. This creates an overlay on the car to display a graphic such as images and logo / text or change the colour of the vehicle. Various vinyl finishes are available, such as matte, satin, gloss, metallic and digitally printed graphics.

Vehicle wrapping helps to create an individual look for a vehicle such as vans, cars and lorries. It is often used by businesses to advertise what they do, but some people use it make their vehicle unique and to make it stand out from the crowd.

The options really are endless with vehicle wrapping and you can create some really cool effects and optical illusions through this process. You can go as simple or as outlandish as you want with this technique. Whether you want to make a vehicle look like an X-Ray or wrap it up like a gift – you can play with your creativity to create something truly unique and eye-catching.

Graphic Design for Vehicle Wrapping

Before the wrap is created, you will discuss the project in-depth with your Joyce Design dedicated account manager, so that they understand what it is you’re after and advise you how to best achieve the required work in line with your budget. They will then brief the designers on the artwork. Joyce Design has access to a complete library of vehicle templates (schematics), which they will use to present design options to you.

We will work with you to decipher what you want to include within your design such as images, logos, contact information and description of your business. Using your feedback and directions as well as our professional advice and experience – we’ll work together to bring your vision to life and help your vehicle get noticed for all the right reasons.

We’ll send you a proof of the design concept mocked up on your vehicle template, so you can gain an idea of what your vehicle will look like when the wrap is applied. We are happy to adjust and rejig elements of the design until you are completely satisfied with the end result.

Fitting Vehicle Wrapping

Once the design has been agreed and signed off, our production department will print it onto vinyl and prepare the kit ready for application. We can fit at Joyce Design where we provide an optimum environment for graphics install (clean, warm, well-lit) or at your premises if simpler graphics. In any case, we will work with you to minimise the inconvenience of having vehicles off the road and get it done as efficiently as possible.

We have completed work on 100’s of fleet of vehicles and can easily wrap or rewrap a fleet at once or in a staggered approach. Or if you invest in new vans, we’re all too happy to help it look uniform with the rest of your fleet.

When applied correctly by professionals, vehicle wrapping can last for seven years or more if looked after well and helps to protect the original paintwork from chips, scratches and colour fading as it is protected from sunlight and the elements.

Removing a Vehicle Wrap

If you want to rebrand your vehicle or remove a wrap, vehicle wrapping can be removed without causing damage to the car. We advise you bring your vehicle to us to remove the wrap to ensure it is done carefully and effectively to leave your vehicle in the best condition.
